24-Hour Concert 2017

On Friday 3rd February at 1.30pm, the fourth Dawlish Community College 24-Hour Concert began.

For those of you who have never heard of this before, the concert is continuous without any breaks for the whole 24 hours. Students can buy tickets for friends and family and get sponsored for taking part.

This year the event raised funds for the Music Department and the Snooky Trust, a Dawlish-based charity that helps young adults with physical illnesses in the local community.

The concert was a huge success with performers coming from all years, and included many students who were appearing on stage for the first time. This year’s theme was films, and students were expected to dress up as a character from a movie. We had Rambo, Alice in Wonderland and the Cheshire Cat. Katniss even made an appearance, as did the Mad Hatter, Cruella de Vil and Darth Vader!

The twilight hours are always the most difficult, and students took it upon themselves to work out the programme, ensuring that the concert did not stop.
