South Devon Skills Awards!
Do you know anyone who deserves to be recognised for their achievement in skills at work?
Perhaps you work for an employer who has a fantastic approach to training staff and deserves to be recognised?
Businesses and employees are invited to nominate staff for the South Devon Skills Awards 2011. The event is organised by Torbay Development Agency and Productive Skills for Devon to celebrate excellence in skills and acknowledge the outstanding achievements of learners and employers across Torbay, Teignbridge, Dawlish and South Hams.
The major award ceremony will be held at Riviera International Centre Torquay, on the evening of Thursday 17 March 2011.
Anyone working in Dawlish can nominate an employee or colleague. There are categories to reward the variety of achievements and contribution to business, and there are awards for all types of business from the micro-business to large enterprises and the third sector.
The Skills Awards Categories are,
Achieving skills for life
Tutor, trainer or mentor who most inspires others to learn
Employee who most inspires others to learn
Learning against the odds
Young apprentice of the Year (age 14-16)
Apprentice of the year (Level 2)
Advanced apprentice of the year (Level 3 or higher)
Employers of the Year Categories
Skills in micro-businesses: Employer of the year (1-9 employees)
Skills in small & medium businesses: Employer of the Year (10 – 250)
Skills in large businesses: Employer of the year (250 + )
Skills in the third sector: Employer of the Year
Success in skills leadership and management
